Dear Mr. Lueder:

The information in this letter is meant to satisfy the legal requirements of TRANS 220.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has scheduled a highway improvement project for USH 18/151 in Dane County. KL Engineering is under contract with the WisDOT SW Region (Madison) to complete the design of the proposed improvements. This letter is being sent to inform you of this project and to request your help in determining if there are any potential conflicts with your existing facilities. Please send us your system maps for your facilities in the area of the project. These maps will be used to verify utility facility ownership on our plans. If you don't have any facilities in the project area, please let us know and we will remove your name from future mailings.

The USH 18/151 roadway project between Town Hall Road and CTH PD will consist of concrete pavement repairs, turn lane extensions, and pavement replacement of CTH PB at USH 18/151 ramp terminals.  This project will not require the purchase of right-of-way for construction.  Final PS&E submittal is scheduled for November 2020 with construction occurring in 2021.

Enclosed are the following:

  1.  Project Location Map
  2.  A list of other utility companies and contact people that are receiving this notice. This list may be of benefit to you when coordinating with the other utility companies in the area.
  3.  Form DT1077 PROPOSED HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT NOTICE. NOTE: You will need to return the Notice Acknowledgement at the bottom of the form within seven days of your receiving it, with one of the three options marked. Emailing a scanned copy of the notice is acceptable.

As noted in the DT1077 Form, please provide within 60 days a description of your facilities within the project limits. "Description" as used here generally means providing a copy of our system maps/facility records.

If these records and maps are stored electronically, we are capable of accepting copies of these electronic files in Microstation, AutoCAD, or Arcview format on a CD, or via email to me at bcunningham at klengineering.com<mailto:bcunningham at klengineering.com>.

If you have facilities in the vicinity of this project, I'll be contacting you again with "Form DT1078 PROJECT PLAN TRANSMITTAL" which will be accompanied by final plans approved for use in designing your facility relocations.
